A studio apartment is usually not approved for permanent residence, which implies that it is not possible to make a permanent home here and that it does not meet the building’s current hygienic criteria such as soundproofing or lighting.
Another issue with studios is that banks generally do not consider them sufficient collateral, making it impossible to obtain a mortgage loan for their purchase without also guaranteeing other property as security. In fact, all of these factors contribute to a lower purchase price. Regardless of the fact that the desired apartment appears to be fully functional for living, it could actually be a non-residential location.
